Kodi Shrunken Screen and Stutter Fix

Version 15 of Kodi, codename Isenguard has had some major changes to the ffmpeg*, removing some legacy codecs, hence the Apple TV 2 no longer being supported. (*ffmpeg is the code that contains the information on how to decode and playback the streams in Kodi – without it nothing works!) This has led to a variety of problems for Kodi users with wrong sized images, playback and audio issues being the most common ones.

How to Reset Your Android Box to the Default Launcher

One of the cool things about Android is the way you can replace the stock app launcher with any number of third-party alternatives such as Nova Launcher or Aviate. If you're new to Android yourself, or just looking for a way to give your Andorid box a makeover, launchers can be a lot of fun to experiment with.

But there is one problem with that. It's not always clear how to switch back to the default launcher if you decide you don't like the new one (and elected to make it the new default by selecting "Always" after tapping the Home button).

How to Reduce Buffering Issues in XBMC/Kodi

There are a lot of misconceptions in the XBMC Kodi world about what buffering is, what causes it, why it happens and how to help avoid it. So we wanted to write an article addressing some of the causes of buffering and how to help minimize it, Please note that I did not say eliminate it as this is impossible.

But before we get into the buffering discussion I want to explain a little bit of how XBMC Kodi actually works and explain what is happening behind the scenes when you open up XBMC Kodi Addons and stream sources.

What is XBMC/Kodi?

Kodi (formerly known as XBMC) is an award-winning free and open source (GPL) software media player and entertainment hub that can be installed on Linux, OSX, Windows, iOS, and Android, featuring a 10-foot user interface for use with televisions and remote controls. It allows users to play and view most videos, music, podcasts, and other digital media files from local and network storage media and the internet.
